Christina Santa Maria, mezzo-soprano, recently graduated from the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ with a Master of Music degree in Voice Pedagogy and Performance. In 2015, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Binghamton University, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance. Recent performances include Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, and partial roles as Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Charlotte in Werther, Meg Page in Falstaff, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. She performed with Tri-Cities Opera as a member of the opera chorus from 2011-2015, and sang the lead role of Billie in their production of Speed Dating Tonight!, a one-act comic opera commissioned by the Janiec Opera of the Brevard Music Center. She has won numerous awards and scholarships from NYSSMA, NATS and similar honor societies. As a professional youth and collegiate chorister, she has performed with some of the world’s greatest orchestras and as a background vocalist for Elton John, Barbra Streisand, John Legend, Natasha Bedingfield, and the indie pop group Grizzly Bear with the Grammy-Award winning ensemble, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. |
